OCCUPANTS of a red car could hold the key to police catching three men who assaulted a man in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The victim, believed to be in his early 30s, was left with serious head injuries after being attacked outside Slough Central Library, near the Moon And Spoon pub, in High Street, at 2.30am.
The area around the pub was cordoned off to the public throughout the day until Saturday evening, causing traffic disruption.
Police now believe that three men attacked the victim, with all described as being black, around 5ft 7ins, with short black hair.
Thames Valley Police has made a renewed appeal for any information about the attack.
Det Con Emma Mullenger, the investigating officer, said; "Our understanding is that there were lots of people around the area at the time and we would urge anyone in the vicinity of the library at the time to please come forward as they may be potential witnesses.
"We would particularly like to speak to the occupants of a red car which was spotted very close to the scene of the attack, as they may have vital information."
if you have any information, please contact Det Con Emma Mullenger via the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A 34-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident but was later released without charge.
