Take a leap forward with health and wellbeing day
HEALTH-checks and financial advice are among the items on offer at an event to help residents care for their minds and bodies.
South Bucks District Council have issued an open invite to a free 'Health and Wellbeing Day' event on Wednesday, February 29 at the Memorial Centre in East Common, Gerrards Cross between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
The day will be attended by health specialists, as well as experts in areas of finance, cars and crime prevention, who will offer advice and valuable information on the many stalls.
As well as mini-health checks, there will be more detailed guidance on opportunities for volunteering, avopiding loan sharks and stopping smoking.
Cllr Anita Cranmer, community portfolio holder, said: "We would like to encourage residents from all parts of the district to attend this very informative and fun packed day.
"This is the first event of this kind we have arranged in South Bucks and depending on its success we intend to stage further events of this type across the area.
"We hope residents will turn out and pick up advice and information relating to health and wellbeing as well as seizing the opportunity to take advantage of the free mini health checks we have organised."
The event will also be attended by the Citizens Advice Bureau, Careers Bucks and the Chilterns and South Bucks Disability Group.
