Stop and search enforced after gang attacks
A STOP and search policy was enforced by police on Sunday after two attacks involving gangs of youngsters.
An 18-year-old was stabbed in the arm after being assaulted by a group of men in the Wentworth Avenue area at 4.30pm on Sunday.
The incident is believed to be a targeted attack.
The victim was treated at Wexham Park Hospital for a minor stab wound and later discharged.
Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to disorder in Marescroft Road at 6pm where three people were arrested.
A 19-year-old and 16-year-old were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. A 14-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of affray.
All three have been released on bail until March 5.
A Section 60 order, under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, was put in place overnight to stop any further trouble in the area overnight.
The order allows officers to search people in the area, within a set period of time, to prevent any further incidents.
Insp Nigel Doak, based at Slough police station, said: "We will be carrying out further high-visibility patrols in the area to reassure residents and would appeal to anyone with information about these incidents to come forward."
Det Insp Nicky Hurdley, of Slough CID, added: "In connection with the incident in which the man suffered the minor stab wound, I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident in the Wentworth Avenue area, or anyone with information as to who was responsible, to come forward.
"We are not treating this as a random attack and at this time believe the victim and the offenders may be known to each other."
