School celebrates its golden jubilee

A SCHOOL'S birthday celebrations included a special appearance by an Olympic torch.
Around 350 pupils and their friends and families gathered in the playing field at Holy Family primary school in High Street, Langley, for a summer fair celebrating the school's 50-year anniversary on Saturday.
Five teams of students took an Olympic torch, donated to the school for the day, on a mini-relay around Langley, leaving at 11.45am and stopping at Kedderminster park, Holy Family Church and Reds Cafe before going back to the school for the fair.
Activities and entertainment included facepainting, a tombola, Polish dance and Martial Arts performances and a rainbow ballpit.
Parent Tina Brennan, who helped organise the fair and was there with her two children, Ciara, 11, and Johnny, six, said: "It's been a successful day so far and an extra special celebration for the school's birthday."
