SCHOOLCHILDREN turned historians have been delving into their area's heritage.
An exhibition at Slough Library on Monday showcased Wexham Court Primary School student's Window on the World Project, which explored Wexham Court Estate's history since it was built in 1954.
Since January Years 4 and 5 pupils from the school in Church Lane have been looking at different buildings in the Wexham area, as well as speaking to 28 residents about their reasons for settling there and investigating their own personal family histories.
The exhibition at the library, attended by Mayor Christine Small, included family trees and maps of the area created by students for the project, which was organised by parents Andrew and Cynthia Knight.
Headteacher Angela Hermon said: "They have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the heritage of the area and meeting lots of different people."
She added the children also learned interview skills and how to present information.
