A TEENAGER'S inspiring piece of design has been chosen by a former Olympian as a national winner.
Mark Keogh, 15, entered the 'Dishes of Best Wishes' competition run by Fairy which challenged people up and down the country to design a plate to inspire Team GB's athletes during the Olympics and Mark's design was chosen as a winner by Paula Radcliffe.
The St Bernard's Catholic Grammar School pupil was presented with his prize of a framed print of his entry signed by the three-times London Marathon winner at the Sainsbury's store in Uxbridge Road on Friday (10/8).
Mark, who lives in Langley Road, said; "I entered the competition as my brother was doing it while we were shopping and I thought anything was better than shopping.
"I didn't think I'd win as stuff like this doesn't happen to people like me. I couldn't believe it when I found out I had won."
The marathon runner said: "Mark's plate was great. It was a simple design that worked so well. I wanted to say thank you on behalf of Team GB for the support shown through the competition and across the country as the Olympics has gone on."
