A PETITION with more than 4,000 signatures opposing plans for Khalsa Secondary Academy in Hollybush Hill, Stoke Poges was handed into Buckinghamshire County Council this morning.

The petition had more than 3,200 online signatures and around 800 written objections. Stoke Poges has a population of less than 5,000.

Stoke Poges ward councillor Trevor Egleton handed the petition in at a full council meeting in Aylesbury.

Prospective parents and students at the school due to start in September have been invited to attend an open day at Hollybush Hill on Thursday next week.

South Bucks District Council's planning committee hope to pass judgement on the school's application at a meeting on Wednesday, May 22.
