A COUNCILLOR is hoping for a 'sustainable’ development at a controversial site following the submission of new plans.

Enterprise Rent-a-Car has submitted an application to South Bucks District Council (SBDC) to change the use of Pandora’s nightclub in Uxbridge Road, George Green, to vehicle hire, with canopied wash bay, additional parking spaces and alterations to site layout.

SBDC refused an application to change the use of the site from a restaurant to a sexual entertainment venue in November 2011, and that decision was backed by the High Court after an appeal in March last year.

Cllr Malcolm Bradford, for Wexham and Iver West ward, said: “It is obviously a site of interest for the community and it needs to have something there, something that is more sustainable.

“We have to judge it on its own merits and we cannot pre-judge it, but if the client has done its homework I am sure they will have an understanding of what they are looking to get approved.” The application, submitted on Wednesday, April 2, includes the installation of a canopy to the rear of the site to be used for car valeting, and a new front door and access ramp. A decision is expected by Wednesday, May 28.
