A NEW showroom received a warm welcome from residents as it opened in the heart of a village.

Ashford Kitchens and Interiors opened its doors for the first time at its new location in The Broadway, Farnham Common, to more than 100 people on Good Friday (18/4), as it celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

The day featured Easter-themed events including an Easter egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter bunny, as well as the ribbon-cutting ceremony with the store’s first customers Vic and Sharon Bunby, from Stoke Poges, doing the honours.

Director Grace Flower said: “It was very busy and we were really pleased with the turnout - it was more than we could have expected.

“Everyone was really complimentary and people were pleased to see the shop full again, as it has been empty for some time, and they said that it looks nice and is bringing life to the parade again.” The business, founded by Richard Flower and his wife Tracey, opened its first showroom in Ashford, Middlesex, in 1984 and the couple have lived in Farnham Common for the past 25 years. They will run the showroom alongside their son, Stephen, and his wife, Grace.
