BAGS of poppy seeds will be given away tomorrow on Saturday as part of a council’s World War One centenary events.
The seeds, with instructions, will be given away at the Slough Remembers event from 10am-2pm in the Town Square and High Street.
It will include the unveiling of the town’s new war memorial, activities from 100 years ago and scenes of Slough from the turn of the last century.
Councillor Sohail Munawar, commissioner for social and economic inclusion, said: “By all taking part in planting the poppies we can bring a poignant splash of colour to our town and our centenary commemoration event.” For more information on WW1 centenary events in Slough log on to www.slough.gov.uk/sloughremembers
