PLANS to change the use of a pub have been approved despite objections.
South Bucks District Council approved the application by Marcus Robinson to change the use of The Bull Inn in High Street, Iver, from a drinking establishment to shops on Thursday last week (9/10).
Mr Robinson, who is the managing director at neighbouring Fontain Motors, which purchased the site in April, plans to turn the pub into a car parts store.
Objections were received from 13 adjoining occupiers, as well as a ward councillor who expressed concern at the loss of the pub, 'considered to be the last proper pub in Iver High Street’.
The Save the Bull campaign was launched at the end of last year, as residents tried to raise money to buy the site and keep it as a pub.
However, they were unsuccessful leading to Mr Robinson purchasing the site.
