AN APPEAL for witnesses is being made by Thames Valley Police after armed robbers targeted a bookmakers.

Two men carrying hammers entered Betfred shop in Burnham Lane, Slough, at 7:26pm yesterday evening.

One of the men, wearing a white cloth to cover his face as well as a white T-shirt, dirty, dark blue jeans and a belt, jumped over the counter and demanded money from the member of staff.

The second man, who was wearing a long brown coat, black trousers and black fabric with two eye holes to cover his face, guarded the door.

The staff member gave the offenders cash from the safe in the back room.

After a further search of the store, the men put the cash in a Nisa plastic bag and left the shop.

The first offender is white, aged between 26 and 30 years old, 6ft tall, slim, with very short dark hair.

The second offender is white, 5ft 8ins tall, wearing his hood up.

No one was injured in the incident.
