Train commuters who travel between Windsor and Eton Riverside and London Waterloo face disruption from Monday, due to alterations in the timetable - writes Greg Taylor.

Building work at Waterloo station means temporary train times being put in place from Monday until August 24. These temporary times mean that trains between Windsor and Waterloo will be operating at the normal times during peak hours, but less trains will be operating during the middle of the day.

A statement South West Trains say: “Throughout this time, fewer trains will be running across the South West Trains network. Some stations will see very significant reductions in the frequency of their train services and a small number will be closed for some or all of this time.”

South West Trains have advised the commuters can expect their trains to be busier than normal, as commuters from temporarily cancelled services will now congregate at alternate stations.

Feltham, Richmond, Whitton, Twickenham, Putney and Vauxhall stations are expected to be affected stops. South West is extending its trains with extra carriages outside of peak hours.

Due to how crowded and busy London Waterloo is likely to become, they further advised travellers to avoid changing over to fast services at this station, as there is a likelihood you travellers may miss their trains.
