A weekend of celebration saw communities across Slough join the town's Pakistanis as they commemorated 70 years since the partition of India.
Slough's Pakistan Welfare Association which represent about 45,000 people in the town held a flag ceremony and prayers at the Youth and Community Centre in Darvills Lane.
It was part of two days of celebrations that began on Saturday when awards to volunteers in the community were presented by PWA president Raja Shabbir and the mayor of Slough Cllr Ishrat Shah.
There was music, a boxing demonstration and a speech about the future of Pakistan and the PWA given by Sattar Sahib .
On Sunday a second day of celebration saw a fun afternoon with a clown. Children came in Pakistani dress and a competition was held the best outfit.
Young and old had a chance to enjoy a variety of stalls, as well as the balloons and models plus a corner where flags and biscuits were made.
PWA vice-president Shaida Akbar, who was part of the organising committee said: "The event went beyond our expectations.
"I did not think so many people would turn up. People from all the ethnic minorities in Slough came.
"It was a fabulous Day and PWA came alive with passions in celebrating this landmark."
