A 22-year-old driver died in the early hours of Monday morning when a black BMW car crashed down the embankment in Riding Court Road, Datchet - rolling over and trapping two men inside.

The accident happened at about 4.30am at the entrance to the Riding Court business centre a few yards past Datchet Cricket Club.

Firefighters from Slough and Langley worked for an hour to free the men. South Central Ambulance sent a rapid response vehicle, two ambulances, a paramedic team leader, a silver officer and a doctor.

Tragically it was too late to help the driver, who was found to be dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 22-year-old man sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the major trauma centre at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The site where the accident happened was covered in flowers and tributes this week - with a bouquet spelling out the deceased man's name Jaz.

He is understood to be from Slough.
