A 72-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder in June following a shooting in Colnbrook was charged on Tuesday with possessing a shotgun without a licence.
Reuben Gregory, of Colnbrook, was originally arrested following an incident on June 12 after police were called to an address near the bypass at 3.23am following reports that a man had died from shotgun wounds. A post mortem examination later revealed that a shotgun wound to the abdomen had killed Wayne Digby, 48, from Slough.
Mr Gregory was granted bail at the time as police revealed they were conducting a murder investigation.
However, this week police confirmed that Mr Gregory had been released without charge. He has now been bailed to appear at Slough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 18 charged with possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
