A fire that started in the roof of a house in Lambert Avenue, Langley needed three pumps to bring under control yesterday afternoon.
Blue watch crew manager Jonathan James ran the operation as firefighters from the Langley station battled the blaze.
A plumber working in the house who tried to fight the fire suffered superficial burns to his arms but the house was badly damaged.
Firefighters were called at 3pm and were there for an hour and a half.
