Poor weather produced some disappointing results at Windsor and Slough Chrysanthemum, Fuchsia and Pelargonium Society's September evening show.
But although some of the awards for dahlias were not even presented by judge Phil Oram because the standard was not high enough, the overall winner of the chrysanthemum section John Cheers came up with blooms good enough to win the best exhibit prize.
Mike Chatterton and Elizabeth Gray did win awards for their dahlias, while Graham Talbot won the top award in the vegetable section.
The show was held as usual in Gardener's Hall, St Leonard's Road.
