This year's bonfire and firework display at Eton Wick is on Saturday with events starting at 7.30pm - all happening as usual on the field behind the Greyhound pub.

The display promises to be bigger and better than previous years due to fundraising effort from Eton Wick villagers and sponsors.

Eton Town Council, The Baldwins Bridge Trust, Nisa Stores, The Shanly Foundation and Mars Chocolate together with regulars from the Greyhound pub have all clubbed together to make this year's event go with a sparkle.

There is no admission charge and there will be free Glo-Stix and confectionery for the youngsters.

There will be food available with drinks also from the pub.

Charity collectors will be busy for two designated local good causes, The Alexander Devine Childrens Hospice and Swan Support.

This year is the 40th Anniversary of the display, which will be run by Star Fireworks, current holders of the National Firework Championship, Best of the Best winners title.
