The Observer's Christmas Toy Appeal is picking up pace as gifts begin to stream in to our drop off points and businesses lend us their support.

Asian Star Radio, based in the Queensmere Observatory shopping centre, confirmed this week that its staff will once again support us with new toy donations.

And Slough food service giants, Bidfood, in Leigh Road, has signed up to throw its weight behind the appeal too. Employees at the company’s new office are all being asked to buy new toys to bring smiles to disadvantaged children.

We are asking for donations of first-hand toys and gifts for children and young people between the ages of 0 and 19, which we will then distribute to charities and children’s services in our area. This includes the domestic violence charity, Dash, and children’s social services in Slough, South Bucks and the Royal Borough.

Gifts do not have to be wrapped-up, but if they are, please indicate which age the toy is for.

Our appeal runs until Friday December 15 - so please continue to donate until then - with gifts welcome the sooner the better.

You can donate to any of the following drop-off points: lSpace Station, 149 St Paul’s Avenue, Slough, SL2 5EN (Mon-Wed & Fri 8.30am-6pm, Thurs 8.30am-8pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm); lThe Observer office, 112 Windsor Road, Slough, SL1 2JA (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5.30pm); lCo-operative Funeral care at: 16 Parlaunt Rd, Langley SL3 8BB (Mon-Fri, 9am-1pm); 85 Dedworth Rd, Windsor SL4 5BB (Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm); 2 Chalvey Road West, Slough SL1 2PN (Mon-Fri, 9am-3pm); 63 High Street, Burnham, SL1 7JU (Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm) and 27 High Street, Maidenhead, SL6 1JG (Mon-Fr, 9am-4pm); lWindsor visitor information centre, The Old Booking Hall, Windsor Royal Shopping, Thames Ave, Windsor SL4 1PJ (Mon-Sun, 10am-4pm).
