CALLING all adventurous types who would like to scale Spain’s highest mountain – while raising money for Windsor’s hospice.

The trek will take place between Thursday, October 4 and Sunday, October 7 on the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Thames Hospice has organised it in collaboration with Ultimate Challenges, the company which organises pioneering charity challenges.

Signing up to the challenge will mean enjoying the sheltered valleys, green gorges, watercourses and mountain villages - before scaling the Mulhacen mountain at 3,428m.

Alison Evans, Thames Hospice Head of Community and Event Fundraising at the hospice in Hatch Lane, said: “The terrain is tough but rich with flowers, woods, springs and streams, as well as snow-capped mountain peaks. We promise that by taking on this trek, you will not only be raising money to support local people who need our care, but experience a fantastic weekend full of adventure in a hidden region of Spain.”

“The money raised through sponsorship will go towards the £7 million needed every year to keep the hospice in Hatch Lane running.”
