HUNDREDS of cadets took part in a military parade, in order to mark 100 years of the Royal Air Force.

Cadets from across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire marched proudly through Windsor on Sunday, as part of the national RAF100 celebrations.

Stepping off from Victoria Barracks, the procession marched past the Guild Hall and Windsor Castle

Lord Lieutenant Mr James Puxley, and Air Vice Marshall Bruce Hedley, both took the salute from the marching cadets at the Guildhall, along with a number of guests that included the Mayor of Windsor, Cllr John Lenton, Group Captain Eddie Cole, and High Sheriff Graham Barker.

After passing the castle, the cadets moved on to Windsor Parish Church for a service of Thanksgiving, and celebration of over a century of the RAF. The service was lead by the Deputy Regional Chaplain, Flight Lieutenant C.A Lewis, and Reverend K.M Harrison, Chaplain of the 459 (Windsor) Squadron.

A number of the cadets gave readings during the service, prior to all the assembled cadets renewing their Cadet Promise to the Royal Air Force.

Following the service, the Thames Valley Wing Band led the parade all the way back to the Victoria Barracks, where cadets had a rare chance to meet cadets from other local branches.
