Historic Eton will become a party town the day after the royal wedding.

But the organisers of the Royal Wedding street party are not planning to welcome the thousands of visitors who might still be around the day after the wedding - they want it to be an event for people living in Eton and Eton Wick.

All are welcome to come along but only those who have tickets will be able to sit at the tables placed in the street, eat and drink.

Tickets costing £8 are available from the Fudge Shop, Tastes Delicatessan, Eton Stationers or Ella's Party Shop. Only six per household will be allowed.

Visit www.etoncommunity.co.uk for more details.

The street party is on Sunday, May 20, lasting from noon until 5pm.

During the day there will be restricted access to roads leading from the one way section of Eton High Street including Eton Square and Kingstable Street between 7am to 9pm.

Parking in that section of High Street will be suspended from 6pm the previous day.

Eton is beginning to make a tradition out of its street parties, having held one for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding, the Queen's diamond jubilee and her birthday.
