A 25-year-old man brutally attacked and stabbed while travelling with friends on a boat by the Brocas in Eton has been discharged from hospital.

The attack happened around 4.30pm on Wednesday last week, April 18. It is understood the boat was approached by a larger boat with a group of youths of mixed ethnicity aboard.

In the assault which followed the victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his body, jaw and neck.

He was rushed to hospital after a witness saw him running out of the Brocas into an alleyway in Brocas Street where he collapsed.

Police dogs searched the area.

Investigations are continuing and Detective Sergeant Dean Brown is asking for any witnesses to come forward, particularly if they have any mobile footage taken between 3.30pm and 4.45pm that might include images of any of the people involved. They should call 101 quoting references 43180116366.

The incident happened on one of last week's hottest days when many people were about in or near the Brocas. One woman with her young daughter witnesses the injured man running up the alley and collapsing.

The grim incident happened on the same day as an unrelated stabbing in Langley.

They have both come at a time of growing national concern about a recent explosion of knife crime.
