Spate of burglaries in Langley
A STRING of Langley homes were burgled within hours of each other.
Thieves stole laptops and mobile phones from homes in Hampden Road, Quantock Close and Downs Road during the early hours of Sunday morning.
They managed to break into the homes both by smashing windows and through open windows.
Earlier that morning at 4.20am, burglars also attempted to break into a home in Harrow Market but ran off after the owner was alerted when his pet dog began barking.
Police can not confirm if the incidents are related.
Insp Andy Boomer said: "There was a spate of burglaries in Slough on Sunday. Criminals make off with portable items like laptops and mobile phones. They don't go for big plasma screens as much because that can take time to remove and the longer they are in a house the higher their chances of getting caught. "
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged in connection with a burglary in Quantock Close, Langley, during the early hours of Sunday morning when various electrical items and jewellery were stolen. He appeared at Bracknell Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody over night to appear before Maidenhead Youth Court today (Thursday). Two other men, aged 17 and 18, were also arrested in connection with the incident
and have been released on bail until 18 March pending further enquiries.
