PUPILS teamed up with councillors to discuss ways to make Slough a cleaner,

safer and greener place to live.

Youngsters from Wexham Secondary School, St Bernard's Grammar School, Slough. and Windsor Girls presented ideas on the environmental changes they would like to see in the borough at the Slough Borough Council's community, leisure and environment scrutiny panel on Tuesday.

They discussed green changes in lifestyle, sustainable transport, packaging, waste and recycling. The challenge to make Slough greener was organised by Thames Valley University as part of a Enterprise week.

The winners were Windsor Girls School, and the runners up Wexham Secondary School and St Bernard's Grammar School.

Kathryn Horsepool, environmental quality officer for the council, said: "Climate change is a concern for everyone, in particular our young people who will be growing up in a future where environmental awareness is key.

"It's great to see pupils getting involved."
