A MUM who gave birth to her son when she was six months pregnant will thank doctors who saved his life.

Aman Heer will take, Saajan, who weighed just 3lbs when he was born, to deliver Easter eggs to staff at the special baby unit in Wexham Park Hospital on Sunday, March 15.

The 28-year-old went to Wexham Park Hospital on October 25, 2007 in spontaneousness labour - 11 weeks before her due date. She said: "Half an hour later Saajan was born. It was a very scary time for us all and so unexpected because my pregnancy had been very healthy until then.

"He was very tiny - maybe only the size of my hand and his clothes were so small that it was like dressing a doll. For the first two weeks doctors weren't sure he'd survive and that was the most horrific time in my life. I remember crying and praying a lot."

Saajan spent the first nine weeks of his life in the special baby care unit.

Instead of cradling their newborn, the family of Church Road, Iver, watched as he was placed in special incubator and had various pipes attached to him to help him breathe and drink milk.

Mrs Heer, who has a three-year-old daughter, Amrissar, said: "I was scared to hold him at first because he was so fragile but the staff really encouraged me to get involved. He's now fully recovered.

"Looking at him you'd never think he was born prematurely. But the doctors and midwives went out of their way and it's because of them that he is with us today. He is my miracle baby and is walking and talking now! I'll never forget the kindness of the hospital."
