MEMBERS of different faiths and cultures will come together for one week to promote peace and harmony among communities.
A week-long 'inter faith exhibition' is being held in Slough and gives different religious groups the chance to set up stalls related to their religion and hold group discussions.
The event, organised by the Slough Faith Partnership, will be held at Kingsway Church in Church Street as part of the national Inter Faith Week.
Partnership co-chair Zafar Ali said: "When we engage others with dignity and openness, the quality of the dialogue is exceptional and everyone benefits. The major benefit of interfaith week for Slough is that it confirms the value of the spiritual in human make-up.
"However appallingly humans behave generally, there are always startling examples of humility and love to be found. This week will give the people of Slough the opportunity to explore and share spirituality and faith in the spirit of openness and frienship - and that cannot be a bad thing for any town."
The exhibition runs from tomorrow (Saturday) until Sunday, November 22, and is open from 12-6pm. For more information call 07956 022197 or visit www.sloughfaithpartnership.org.uk
As part of the celebration of cultural diversity in the borough, Sikhs will be gathering in Slough town square tomorrow (Saturday) to open up discussions with members of the public.
The event, being held from 2-4pm, will include traditional Langar (free somosas, sweets, fruit and drinks) and guests will include Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart and mayor Joginder Bal. To find out more call 07958 603541.
