A TEENAGE entrepreneur, who shunned university to start a business, is looking forward to showcasing his talents at a national event next month.

Sufian Hassan, from Manor Park, Slough, will be setting up stall for The Gadget Show Live on Tuesday, April 10, after registering his company in November last year.

The 18-year-old's Sticker Munch company, which is supported by the Princes Trust, uses vinyl stickers to personalise property, such as laptops or books.

Sufian, assisted by two friends, will have around 20 designs on display at the show at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre (NEC).

The former pupil of Slough and Eton Church of England Business and Enterprise College, in Ragstone Road, Slough, said: "I developed the idea of Sticker Munch while I was considering whether to apply to university, in view of the fact that costs had tripled.

"The plan was to launch at a big event and we're going to launch at the Gadget Show at the NEC. It is expected that there will be 120,000 people. I was there last year and there were lots of people like me."

Sufian, who cites Sir Richard Branson as a major influence, developed the vinyl sticker idea after visiting a number of events and seeing people personalising their products.

The stickers are made from a high-quality coloured vinyl and are applied as decals, in stead of general stickers, to give a cleaner look and feel, and can be cut out for certain designs.

The teenager also plans to expand the company into a business brand, allowing companies to put logos and symbols on computers.

The Gadget Show Live runs from Wednesday, April 11, until Sunday, April 15, from 9am-6pm daily. Tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday have already sold out.
