SLOUGH was named as the South East hotspot for homeowners at risk of losing their homes.

The alarming figures, which rank Slough as 11th highest in the country, were released by housing and homelessness charity Shelter yesterday (Thursday).

The 'Repossession Risk Hotspots' revealed Slough had 5.93 possession claims per 1000 homes in 2011/12.

The research uncovered a strong link between rising unemployment and repossession.
