SHOCKED residents have spoken of their horror after the body of a 19-year-old man was found in a playground in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were called at 6.43am after a dog walker found the body of the man, yet to be identified, in Monksfield Way park, in Britwell.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, which they are treating as 'unexplained.

Residents told The Observer they saw police pull the body from a toy car in the children’s play area.

Deborah Williams, of Monksfield Way, said: “From midnight I could hear a dog barking constantly by the park. This morning the dog was still barking and it was tied up on the railings. The body was in the car. It is just so sad.” She added: “It is very shocking and it is horrible to be so close to it. And now I can see kids playing in the park and it is awful.” Paramedics also attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A formal identification was yet to take place, as The Observer went to press.

A Monksfield Way resident, who did not want to be named, said: “The body was found in the tank. I could see that the emergency services were taking it from there at around 10.30am.” The playground is just metres from the back of Claycots Primary School, in Monksfield Way.
