THE England football team manager was quizzed by pupils when he visited the town to mark a firm’s renewed commitment to getting the community playing sport.

Roy Hodgson visited the Mars HQ in Slough on Friday last week to celebrate the renewed four-year partnership between the chocolate-making giant and The FA.

He met staff, took a tour of the manufacturing line and was then grilled by 26 eager pupils from Slough schools Godolphin Junior, Pennwood and Our Lady of Peace.

Anita Herbert, community relations at Mars Chocolate, said: “We’re extremely proud of Mars’ great heritage of working within football at both a national and local level and it was thrilling to have a visit from Roy Hodgson.”
