A POPULAR Indian restaurant celebrated 30 years of business with a special banquet.
The India restaurant in Meadfield Road, Langley, hosted a banquet with family and friends, as well as the Mayor of Slough Balvinder Bains and the Mayor of Enfield Anwar Chaudhury MBE to mark its 30th anniversary on Sunday last week (6/4).
The restaurant has been run by the Masood family, from Enfield, since it was opened by Abdul Masood in 1984, and his son Mohamed oversees operations, with his cousin Ehteshamul Hoque running the restaurant on a daily basis.
Mohamed said: “We have been through good times and bad times but we have always served the community.
“We were the first Indian restaurant in Langley and although we do not live here, it is like a second home to us.
“We feel very proud that we have been in Langley for 30 years as most small businesses close down fairly quickly. We feel very proud to reach the milestone and we hope to carry on for another 30 years.”
