THREE stores had to be evacuated after a fire in the High Street.
Firefighters from Slough, Langley and Windsor fire stations were called to High Street, Slough at around 8pm last night after a fire in a service tunnel behind shops.
People were evacuated from Treatz Dessert Parlour, Pepe’s Piri Piri and Ladbrokes, after smoke from the fire travelled through the stores.
Smoke also entered Cash Converters and Manpower but both stores were closed at the time.
Firefighters were there for around two-and-a-half hours, and used six breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, the cause of which is still under investigation.
