A CHARITY which provides scooters for elderly residents has said it is 'good to be back’ after reopening in the town centre.
Slough Community Transport and Shopmobility opened its doors inside the Kingsway United Reformed Church, in Church Street, on Friday (26).
The charity had been operating from Upton Hospital after being evicted from a town centre site which it was leased for free by the council, more than a year ago.
George Howard, general manager of the charity, said: “Our members all tell us that it makes a huge difference to them to be able to access the shops in Slough again. Some of them haven’t been into Slough town centre since our offices closed.” More than 100 invited guests and current and former service users attended the open day.
