THOUSANDS of visitors enjoyed singing, dancing and good food at a popular Bengali festival.

The 6th Durga Puja at Slough Hockey Club, in Upton Court Road, organised by the Royal Berkshire Bengali Association (RBBA), started on Tuesday finished on Saturday.

The Hindu festival included performances from the Reading Bengali Choir, band Pancham and youngsters from the RBBA.

Anamica Roy, RBBA’s charity advisor, speaking last week said: “We tried to get all the surrounding neighbours involved in the festival and we are expecting more than 4,000 people to have attended by the end.” The festival finished with a performance from Bengali lyricist, composer and singer Anupam Roy on Saturday.
