SLOUGH is set to host its own winter wonderland for the first time this Christmas – including an outdoor ice rink.

As well as the 330m rink, there will be Christmas market stalls and children’s rides, from November 24 until January 11next year.

It is run by Absolutely Ice, and will be based in the car park next to the Montem Lane centre.

Matt Schofield, centre manager, said it will 'capture the true spirit and magic of Christmas’.

“This idea has developed and we are confident that this event can grow every year, bringing the local community together for the festive season,” he said “I am fortunate to have a team who adore Christmas, so this is making their dream come true as well as providing something magical close to home for the residents of Slough and the surrounding areas.” There will also be a viewing terrace with mulled wine served. It will be open from 10am-11pm every day, following an opening ceremony by the Slough skating team.

Skating sessions begin every hour and last for 45 minutes, at a cost of only £8.50 including skate hire.
