A WOMAN managed to wrestle away from an offender in an attempted sexual assault.

Police have issued an appeal for information after the incident on Saturday (18).

Between 11.50pm and midnight, a 25-year-old woman exited a bus on Uxbridge Road, Slough, and as she walked past the stairway that leads to the Grand Union Canal, she became aware that someone was behind her.

The person then grabbed the woman from behind and tried to drag her to the floor.

The woman managed to wrestle off the offender, who fled the scene via the stairwell towards the canal.

The offender is described as Asian or Middle Eastern, in his 30s and about 5ft 7in.

He was wearing a shiny, dark coloured Nike jacket with a white Nike tick on the reverse. He was also wearing a pair of light coloured jeans.

Following the incident, the victim ran to Broadmark Road, where she told a member of the public about the incident.

The member of the public was a man, possibly named Tom and was walking a dog.

PC Kirstine Emmer, investigating officer from Slough CID, said: “I would specifically appeal to the dog walker who spoke to the victim after the incident to come forward.
