A MOTHER is still searching for answers after an inquest into the death of her son returned an open verdict.

Tomasz Puzon, 30, of no fixed abode, was found dead underneath the M4 bridge in Windsor Road, Slough, on June 23.

Peter Bedford, coroner for Berkshire, recorded the verdict at an inquest at the Guildhall in High Street, Windsor, on Wednesday (29/10).

Mr Puzon, who moved to England in 2006 from Krakow in Poland, was homeless and an alcoholic after being released from prison on licence in December 2013. The inquest heard a report by the ambulance service stated he had been died for 'some time’ when discovered surrounded by beer cans and blankets by two schoolgirls.

A post-mortem was carried out by Dr Mufeed Ali at Wexham Park Hospital, and in his report he described the examination as being 'significantly impaired by the advanced state of decomposition’.

Mr Bedford, recording a verdict, said: “There are more questions than answers.

“Given the unascertainable cause of death and the absence of any other clear explanation, the logical conclusion for me to record is an open verdict.” Krystyna Puzon, Mr Puzon’s mother, had travelled from Poland to attend the inquest. Speaking through a translator during the inquest, she said: “It is hard for me to believe in this.” Speaking after the inquest, she said: “I do not know how Tomasz died.”
