A SEXUAL health charity is encouraging residents to get tested in the run up to National HIV Testing Week.
Thames Valley Positive Support will also provide extra testing sessions at its venues across Berkshire including Slough next week.
It runs a free HIV testing project and is stressing the importance of getting checked out.
Zoe Edwards, project co-ordinator for the Time to Test project, said: “The best way to protect yourself and your partner is to know your HIV status.
“Our community testing project makes testing extremely accessible. We can book appointments both in and outside of working hours and we have venues across Berkshire. We also offer two different types of test, finger prick and oral swab. We offer the choice as we know some people are needle phobic and this has proved very popular. We are expecting a high demand for tests in the next week, so get in touch with us now to book an appointment.” National HIV Testing Week runs from Saturday (22/11) to Sunday, November 30.
