A COUNCILLOR has been accused of using 'disgusting’ language after using the phrase 'these Eastern Europeans’ on a social media website.

Tory Cllr Frank Abe posted on Streetlife - a social network for residents to discuss their local area - about goods allegedly stolen from his car.

He said car wash workers stole £3.50 in change, mobile phone headphones and some mince pies from his car after he dropped it off to be cleaned on Tuesday.

The solicitor, who specialises in immigration law and international human rights law, posted: “These Eastern Europeans have totally shown contempt in their actions.” It sparked a furious response from Labour Cllr Pavitar Kaur Mann, commissioner for education and children, who tweeted: “Slough Tory Cllr Frank Abe talking of his 'contempt’ over 'these Eastern Europeans’. Not trying to out-UKIP #Ukip?” She also told The Observer yesterday (Thursday): “Stealing is stealing. There is no reason why where they come from has to come in to that.

“'These Eastern Europeans’ - it’s a disgusting use of language. At a time when we are focusing on community cohesion in Slough, someone in a position as an elected representative should not use this language.” Cllr Abe said he dropped his car off at a car wash in Slough, and left it there before heading to the shops. He alleges when he collected the car, £3.50 in change he leaves for car parking in the ashtray had been taken, as well as two mobile phone headphones - one brand new.

He confronted the workers who he claimed said the headphones had been sucked up by a vacuum cleaner.

On his way home he realised the coins were missing and that his shopping bags had been opened with some mince pies eaten.

He said he wanted action to address it and was 'still seething from the experience’. “It is a betrayal of trust mixed with cynicism or contempt”, he posted on Wednesday.

When asked to respond to Cllr Mann’s accusations, he said the under-pressure children’s commissioner is trying to deflect attention 'from her own failings’.

“If she wants to take it out of context it’s up to her,” he said. “She’s making a political statement out of this and I’m not willing to get dragged in.” He also said if Cllr Mann placed so much emphasis on community cohesion, why did she not attend the cohesion talk after Tuesday’s council meeting or the radicalisation conference last week.

He said he resolved the matter after speaking to the manager on Wednesday.
