DETECTIVES investigating distraction burglaries where 80 and 90 year olds were targeted have released new pictures in a bid to help track down the offenders.

A team of burglars targeted elderly residents in 35 incidents across the South East since mid-August, including in Slough. The oldest victim was 94.

Police have now released a new picture, of a three-door silver Audi A3 Sport. They want to speak to anyone who has seen the vehicle. It has a sunroof, which police say is rare on this type of car.

Detective Inspector Ben Wright, from Operation Manhunt which is leading the investigation, said: “We would ask people to look again at these images and please contact us if they can identify these men, or the vehicle pictured. We believe these men, who could be from the Islington area, could greatly assist the investigation.

“Please do get in touch as soon as possible. Any information, however small it may seem, could prove vital to the investigation.” In most cases the offenders gave a false reason to gain entry to the property to steal, including investigating a burst pipe or repairing a water leak. It is believed they operated in a team of three or four.
