A POST office has got the stamp of approval to move location and open for an extra 59 hours a week.
Chalvey Post Office will open at Chalvey Supermarket, in Alexandra Plaza, in Chalvey Road West, on Thursday, January 15.
It will move from its current home in Unit 8 at Alexandra Plaza. The new opening hours will be from 6am-9pm every day.
Will Russell, Regional Network Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community in Slough will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.” The service will be provided at a combination counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till instead of a separate screened counter.
This is an extra 59 hours a week more than currently offered including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon. The branch will also open significantly earlier and close much later every day. Customers will have more choice when to visit.
