AN AWARD-winning venue has welcomed superstars, Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow to its halls as part of the filming for action comedy Mortdecai.

Hedsor House in Taplow, once the 18th century home of Augusta the Princess of Wales, mother of King George III, provided a change of scenery from the movie’s schedule at Pinewood Studios for the A-listers, during the Autumn in 2014.

After filming at the location, Johnny Depp signed the visitor’s book: 'An absolutely amazing place! Many thanks for allowing us this visit. Much respect.’ The crew also visited the Gibtel Lodge and Cafe in Colnbrook, as part of their filming schedule.

The movie, which was released on January, 23, 2015, is directed by David Koepp and written by Eric Aronson.

It features an all-star cast that also includes Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Jeff Goldblum and Paul Bettany.

Jason Wheeler, supervising location manager of Mortdecai, commented: “Hedsor House is a fabulous location.

“Architecturally and visually it was exactly what we were looking for but, also on a practical level, Hedsor House is a private, film-friendly venue, close to both Pinewood Studios and London.

“The team are highly experienced and understand the requirements of a demanding feature film and always do whatever is needed to support the production.”
