A FIREFIGHTER has organised a fundraising car wash in memory of his father.

Ben Martin-Stone, a Slough Red Watch firefighter, lost his father to cancer two years ago. The firefighter was inspired to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in recognition of the help and support his family received throughout ??’s illness.

The car wash, due to be held tomorrow at Slough Fire Station in Tuns Lane, will also be in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity which provides a range of services for fire service personnel and their families, including therapy and rehabilitation for injured firefighters.

Mr Martin-Stone said: “The Fire Fighters Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support are two charities that are very close to my heart. Both provide fantastic help and advice for people when they need it the most, and we wanted to do something to support the amazing work they do.

“We’ve been very lucky when we’ve held previous car washes, as they’ve been supported by lots of generous members of the public. We’re aiming to raise as much money as possible for these two great causes and hope to see lots of people on Saturday!” The car wash will run from 10am-4pm. The suggested minimum donation is £5 per car.
