A NEW WHSmith store will appear in a village as it integrates a Post Office.

Farnham Common Post Office will become a franchised branch of WHSmith Local, as well as including a low-screened counter integrated into the retail counter at the rear of the shop.

The change will mean the branch in the Parade in Beaconsfield Road closes at 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 7 for the works to be carried out ahead of its reopening on Thursday, September 22 at 1pm.

Alan Ridoutt, Post Office Area Manager, said: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

During the closure, alternative branches are available at 220 Farnham Road, Slough and Hedgerley Post Office in Hedgerley Hill.

The opening hours of the new branch will remain the same, from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-12.30pm on Saturdays.

As part of the new branch, customers will be able to access a wide range of services, including special delivery, local collect, home shopping returns and online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
