SPIDERMAN, the Incredible Hulk and Superman all visited a school last week as part of its Wow Day.

Iver Village Junior School encouraged its staff and pupils to dress up as their favourite superheroes as part of the day on Thursday last week.

The day at the school in High Street, Iver aimed at inspiring the children to write poems and discuss real life heroes as well as fictional ones.

Headteacher Jill Digweed said: "We try and do these days at least once every half term. The whole school takes part and we end up with some amazing writing at the end of the day.

"One of the tasks was that they had to come up with a female superhero, as there are a lot of male ones out there, as well as making comic strips and coming up with the differences between fictional and real life superheroes and what qualities they would have.

"It was lovely as the children were talking about their parents being superheroes, and one child came into school in a nurses outfit as her superhero."
