SLOUGH Rugby Club youth section have gathered to celebrate the achievements of its members at an annual awards ceremony.

Youth chairman Andrew Leighton-Pope, youth vice-chair Joanne Williment and club president Ken Watkins presented awards in each age group for the Most Improved Player, Coach’s Player and a Player of the Season.

There was also an overall Club Player of the Season award for the minis and junior sections. Under-nine star Charlie Spires won the minis award and Henry Royal-Brown won the juniors equivalent.

The efforts of volunteers received recognition at the ceremony, and Sandie Belcher collected an award for her coaching.

Debbie Harris, Nancy Smyth and Matt Harris also lifted trophies for their hard work and dedication.

Slough president Watkins commented that he had been proud to be asked to present the trophies this year.

He said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable awards ceremony attended by children of all ages and cultures, with their parents looking on proudly.

“It’s extremely pleasing to see Slough Rugby Club minis and juniors section growing and improving year on year.

“Thank you to everyone involved for their passion and hard work.”
