MIKE Lightfoot believes that there has never been a better time to get involved with Slough Town as the club prepares for an emotional return to the borough.

Slough will move into a brand new multi-million pound Community Sports Facility in Arbour Park this August after 13 seasons of football outside of the town.

Lightfoot is chairman of the Slough Town Supporters’ Trust and hopes people will take advantage of discounted season tickets to join The Rebels for an “extra special year”.

“I think this year is very exciting and I can’t wait for it to start,” he told the Observer. “All the supporters are looking forward to it, as am I.

“The club has a deal on for season tickets so there has never been a better time to go out and buy one. We want to get as many people down as we can.

“The supporters that I’ve spoken with will come, including those who would not or could not get to Holloways Park, Beaconsfield.

“I would hope people will come and I think they will. I hope everyone gets involved and that they are as excited as I am.”

Lightfoot anticipates the first home crowd to top 1,000 and believes they could be cheering Slough all the way to the play-offs this season.

“People will keep on coming if you are winning so it’s important to hit the ground running,” he said. “I would hope for play-offs but who knows.

“That is football, you just don’t know. You could have the best team in the world, but if you don’t gel you will not achieve anything.

“I think we have made some good signings from what I’ve heard, so it’s very exciting, but we will see what we start with.”

IF YOU purchase a season ticket before the final of the 2016 European Championships on July 10, the cost will be as follows:

Adult £100 (£130 after), Concession £60 (£85 after) and Junior £10 (£15 after).
