STEVE Easterbrook hopes that the borough of Slough will get behind Slough Town in a season that promises “thrills and spills”.

Slough Chairman Easterbrook believes that the new campaign will be an exciting one with the club now in a position to push on with new initiatives.

“Jon Underwood and Neil Baker are two of the hardest working managers I have met,” he told the Observer.

“They both have a great understanding of non-league football and the financial constraints that clubs at this level operate within.

“As can by seen by the quality of players we have retained, and the quality of the additions, this season should be full of thrills and spills and a really exciting one.

“However, to be successful you need the support of the town and I am hoping that the town gets behind us. Come and support your local team with the passion and enthusiasm that Slough is renowned for.”

Easterbrook added: “With a new ground back in Slough it will allow the club to play an important part within the community.

“Whilst the first team is important this new facility will also allow us to continue to look to grow the club and introduce new initiatives to encourage everyone, from all walks of life, to get more involved.

“Last year we introduced a disability team, which has been fantastic, and with a new home we will finally be in a position to consolidate and continue to pursue these really worthwhile projects, and develop several new exciting plans.”
